Summary

Craig Sandison QC practices in most areas of commercial law, including commercial contracts, company law, corporate insolvency and commercial property.  He has a particular specialism in property law (both commercial and otherwise), including conveyancing and land obligations, and landlord and tenant law.  He also has subsidiary practices in media law, trusts and executries, and in judicial review.

Experience

Craig Sandison QC has been leading counsel in very many reported cases in the United Kingdom Supreme Court, House of Lords, Court of Session, Land Court and Lands Tribunal, and in the Sheriff Courts.  He has also conducted a wide variety of commercial and other arbitrations

• McDonald v Pollock [2012] CSIH 12 - Inner House sale of goods case determining issues of "sale in course of business", opportunity to inspect, and exercise of right of rejection. 
• Aberdeen City Council v Stewart Milne Group Ltd 2012 SLT 205 - most recent UK Supreme Court Scottish case on contract construction and implication of necessary terms.
• Cramaso LLP v Viscount Reidhaven's Trustees [2011] CSIH 81 - Inner House case dealing with claim that duty of care owed in negligence to entity not in existence at time of negligence in question.
• Compugraphics International Ltd v Nikolic 2011 SC 744 - Inner House case dealing with whether servitudes of projection and general support exist and may be prescriptively acquired.
• Liquidator of Letham Grange Development Co Ltd v Foxworth Investments Ltd 2011 SLT 1152 - commercial court case dealing with various issues concerning validity and status of standard security after reduction of granter's title.
• Profile Projects Ltd v Elmwood (Glasgow) Ltd 2011 SLT 975 - commercial court case providing rare example of construction contract adjudicator's award not being enforced because of lack of jurisdiction on his part.
