Summary
Lauren Sutherland has an exclusively civil practice in the areas of professional negligence and personal injury. She has particular interest and experience in medical negligence. She acts on behalf of pursuers and defenders and will consider instructions in speculative cases and legal aid cases.
Experience
Lauren Sutherland has advocacy experience gained over 20 years both as a Solicitor in private practice and at the Bar. She has been involved in a number of high profile Fatal Accident Inquiries. She has experience in the Sheriff Court, and the Inner and Outer House, including proofs, judicial review hearings, jury trials and procedure rolls. She has been involved in one of the few medical negligence jury trials to proceed to trial.
Publications
Lauren has published widely in the area of personal injury and medical negligence. In addition to this she is also:
- Contributing Editor on Medical Negligence to Green's Reparation Bulletin
- Contributor to Green's Human Rights loose leaf on Medical Law and Human Rights
Teaching Experience
Lauren Sutherland has lectured widely on Personal Injury, Medical Negligence and Law and Ethics. She teaches Law and Ethics at Dundee Dental School.
