Catherine MacColl

Summary

Catherine MacColl practices in a number of areas of civil law, focussing since coming to the bar on property related and contractual disputes. She has experience of advising landlords and tenants, landowners and purchasers, neighbours and local authorities in relation to a wide range of disputes involving property, leases and conveyancing.  Her work advising on the interpretation of contract and breach of contract has included conduct of litigation in the commercial court. Her experience of professional negligence work has to date related mainly to architects and solicitors. She is particularly interested in issues relating to the ownership, management, and use of land and buildings, including planning. She has acted for both pursuers and defenders in a number of reparation cases. Catherine has also appeared before the Lands Tribunal and before the disciplinary tribunal of a professional body.  She is a CEDR accredited mediator and has degrees in philosophy as well as law.
